For The Residents At Atlanta's Senior Communities
Wayne Freedman began studying piano at age 4. During his high school years in his hometown of Buffalo NY, he performed at senior living centers as a community service project. After graduating from Northwestern University in 1977, he embarked on a successful media career would last nearly 45 years. While working in NYC in the 1980’s, Wayne performed at the historic “One If By Land, Two If By Sea” restaurant in Greenwich Village. But as his career and family responsibilities grew, Wayne’s piano playing lessened. Since retiring in 2022, his goal has been to re-immerse himself in the piano, and to perform again as a volunteer at senior communities. Wayne now performs at over 30 senior communities in Atlanta, accompanied by his wife, Nancy (who emcee’s and shares fun stories about the music). His piano playlist includes "light classical" works from composers like Chopin, Bach, Debussy, and Mozart, but also features popular favorites from artists like Billy Joel, Randy Newman, The Beatles, as well as tunes from Broadway shows and movies. Nancy and Wayne live in East Cobb. They have three adult children, and are grandparents to two grandsons, Henry and Miles.
